Comparing Twelve Songs by W.H.Auden and Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good

Comparing 12 Songs by W.H.Auden and Do non Go Gentle Into That close dark by Dylan ThomasThe 2 poems I am comparing argon Twelve Songs by W.H.Auden and Do non Go Gentle Into That unspoiled Night by Dylan Thomas. cardinal themes runthrough two of these poems, those themes are grief and death.Although the subjects are the same, the poets individually have a verydifferent approach to the subjects. This is shown in galore(postnominal) differentways, only if although their approach to the subjects are very different, their overall views on grief and death are quiet similar. That beingthat neither sorrow nor death is good, and no one wants it tohappen.Someone who has lost a love one, and feels nothing is important nowthat they have gone is narrating Twelve Songs. A watchword is narratingDo Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night. The son is telling his stupefynot to die. Twelve Songs is not talking to anyone he is talkingab step up someone. Whereas Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good n ight the sonis talking to his father sort of than talking most him. The tone ofeach poem is quite similar. They both habituate orders and commands but theyuse them very differently. Twelve Songs uses a list of commandmentor commands throughout the whole poem. Do Not Go Gentle Into ThatGood Night uses two instruction manual Do Not Go Gentle Into That GoodNight and Rage rage against the dying of the light. Dylan Thomasuses these two lines throughout the whole poem but only uses those two instruction manual either at the beginning or the end of each stanza.W.H.Auden uses a lot of Instructions, in fact the whole poem is justinstructions Stop all the clockspack up the moon and dismantlethe sun But none of the instructions are repeated at any otherwise poi... ...ave out that message to the reader. Dylan Thomas did not reallygive out a message to the reader apart from to put up a fight againstdeath. His aim of begging his father not to die and to ca-ca animpact worked. He did use i nstructions but not in the same way asW.H.Auden, however his instructions did work as he used them to beghis father to not go gentle into that good night. The importantdifference between these poems is that Twelve Songs is about afterdeath and Do Not Go Gentle In to That Good Night is about beforedeath. The main similarity is that they both use instructions and eventhough they use them very differently they are still very effective inboth poems and are used well. Also both poems talk about personalfeelings but only at the end. I pray do not go gentle into that goodnight, and I opinion love would last forever I was wrong.
